Hardwood Utilization Techniques for Northern California This publication will be of interest to anyone concerned with the utilization and sustainable management of North Coast hardwoods. It is an effort to put under one cover some of the basic information needed to: (1) assess the sustainable harvesting possibilities of hardwood stands, and (2) maximize the yield of hardwood lumber through proper felling, bucking, milling and drying techniques. This information has been assembled and developed over the last 13 years by Wild Iris Forest Products and the Institute for Sustainable Forestry (ISF).
